Tell Yale: Don’t Cave to Trump

Trump is weaponizing the Department of Justice to push his far-right agenda on college campuses. Yale is scared and ready to settle.

Demand that they stand up and fight back instead.

Stand with Yale students, alumni, and faculty.

In June, the news broke that Yale was negotiating a settlement with the Trump administration in response to accusations from the Justice Department that the university gave illegal preferential treatment to Black and Hispanic applications.

Rather than standing up and calling out these accusations for what they are — a politicized attack on academic freedom on college campuses —  Yale University President Maurie McInnis is caving to the pressure and trying to cut a deal.

But Yale is complying in advance and negotiating against themselves. The Trump administration hasn’t even made any concrete demands yet, but that hasn’t stopped Yale from offering them two settlement agreements

It’s critical that Yale stand up for its students and faculty and defend diversity on their campus. If they cave to Trump now, he will continue to crack down on Yale’s students and faculty. Academic freedom and free speech on campus will be even more in jeopardy.

Show solidarity with the students, alumni, and faculty taking a stand against Yale’s cowardly surrender. Sign the petition today to tell President McInnis: Don’t cave to Trump. Stop negotiating and stand up for your school.
