Urge Your Senators to Oppose and Stop Trump's Crypto Corruption

Last year, the House passed the CLARITY Act (H.R. 3633), a sweeping crypto bill that fails to meaningfully address the corruption and conflicts of interest of billionaires, bad actors, and Trump’s crypto empire.

Since then, the crypto lobby has been pushing for it to pass the Senate. The good news? After months of organizing and pressure, Senate Democrats held the line. On September 15th, the Senate failed to advance the bill after it fell short of the 60 votes it needed to overcome cloture. This reflects sustained pressure from advocates across the country, who made clear that Congress should not pass crypto legislation without meaningful ethics and anti-corruption protections. But this fight isn’t over yet. One failed vote doesn't mean the threat is gone. We need Democrats to continue holding the line if Republican leadership or the crypto industry tries to bring the bill back for another vote.

Trump has already amassed $1.4 billion in the last year alone, and the latest bill text doesn’t include enough meaningful ethics fixes:

  • It does not require Trump to divest completely from his crypto-related business interests and investments, leaving him avenues to keep benefiting financially from the industry while his administration regulates it.
  • It also doesn’t broadly prohibit his adult children or family members from owning or profiting from crypto businesses, including family-linked ventures.

Use this email tool to tell your senators to continue opposing the CLARITY Act. We won’t let Congress enable more of Trump’s corruption or gamble away our financial stability just to appease crypto billionaires.

Dear Senator,

I am writing to urge you to continue opposing the CLARITY Act and any cryptocurrency legislation that fails to address the growing corruption surrounding President Trump’s financial ties to the crypto industry.

At a time when President Trump is actively profiting from cryptocurrency ventures and creating unprecedented opportunities for wealthy individuals, corporations, and even foreign actors to funnel money into businesses tied to him, Congress should not be advancing legislation that further expands and legitimizes the industry without addressing these conflicts of interest.

The CLARITY Act would create significant new opportunities for the crypto industry while failing to include meaningful safeguards against corruption, conflicts of interest, market abuse, or foreign influence. While the latest version attempted to include ethics provisions, they are simply not enough, and significant loopholes remain. The bill does not require President Trump to divest completely of his crypto-related investments and business interests. It also does not broadly prevent his adult children or other family members from owning or profiting from crypto businesses while he’s in office.

Congress has the duty to strengthen oversight and accountability, not weaken them. You must also ensure that the president cannot personally benefit from a corrupt industry while his administration shapes the rules governing it. Americans deserve a financial system that protects consumers and investors, not one that enables powerful interests to buy access and influence. I expect you to stand against corruption and hold the line with a NO vote on the CLARITY Act if it returns to the floor again.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
