The recent midterm elections marked a transformative rejection of the Trump administration's reckless warmongering, economic devastation, and blatant disregard for the rule of law. Voters want accountability for the cruelty and lawlessness, and there’s no reason we need to wait for January.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has overseen a Pentagon responsible for unjust wars, reckless military operations, and flagrant abuses of power since Trump's return to office. He’s acted with impunity – but now Congress has a chance to change that.

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie is forcing a vote to impeach Hegseth, citing violations of congressional war powers, unlawful military operations in Iran, Yemen, and Venezuela, extrajudicial killings, and retaliation against political critics. Massie has pledged to force an impeachment vote when Congress returns for the lame-duck session, meaning the vote could happen as soon as November 9.

Since taking office, Hegseth has overseen unauthorized military operations, including Trump’s disastrous war on Iran, and an illegal campaign of extrajudicial murders in the Caribbean and Pacific. These operations have cost taxpayers billions, devastated civilian lives abroad, and undermined congressional authority.

He has made our country less safe with his reckless, politically motivated purges of some of the most experienced members of our armed forces.

Americans are crying out for accountability. I hope you’ll listen and take action to check Hegseth’s flagrant abuses of power.
