Demand Republicans Take a Stand Against Trump’s Attack on Public Education

Donald Trump just signed an executive order to dismantle the Department of Education, gutting public school funding, eliminating federal student aid, and stripping resources from students with disabilities. Most Americans—Republicans and Democrats alike—oppose this attack, but Congressional Republicans need to be forced to take a stand.

Will they back Trump’s reckless plan to destroy public education, or will they stand with students and schools? Email your Republican Members of Congress now and demand an answer.

The email to your Republican Members of Congress:

Dear Senator/Representative,

I am writing as a constituent to demand an answer: Will you stand with Donald Trump’s extreme plan to dismantle the Department of Education, or will you fight to protect our public schools?

Trump’s executive order will devastate education in every community. It will cut funding for public schools, eliminate federal student aid programs like Pell Grants, and gut special education services that millions of families rely on.

The vast majority of Americans—Republicans and Democrats alike—oppose this radical attack on public education. Our students and teachers need leaders who will fight for them, not politicians who stand by while Trump destroys our schools.

This is a yes-or-no question: Do you support Trump’s reckless plan to eliminate the Department of Education, or will you stand up for students, teachers, and families? Will you support the Department of Education Protection Act (H.R. 433) introduced by Congresswoman Hayes?

I expect a clear answer.
