Tell Congress: End the Illegal War on Iran

Trump's unauthorized, unprovoked war in Iran has cost the lives of US service members and thousands of civilians in Iran and across the Middle East. Trump and Netanyahu have made repeated threats of ground invasions, unlawful actions, and genocidal destruction, which could lead to further horrors and yet another catastrophic forever war. At the same time, efforts to reach a more permanent ceasefire and de-escalate the conflict continue to be undermined by the Israeli government's relentless military escalation, including ongoing attacks on Lebanon and across the region.

Taxpayers are being asked to bankroll war while families struggle with rising costs at home and essential programs remain on the chopping block.

Both the House and Senate have now passed War Powers Resolutions challenging Trump's unauthorized military actions against Iran and reasserting Congress's constitutional authority over matters of war. But these votes are not enough.

We call on Members of Congress to:

  1. Hold the line for not another dime.  A vote for the Trump-Hegseth weapons budget, a supplemental request for funding, or additional funding for war under the NDAA is unacceptable.
  2. Stop funding Israel’s military.  We must block any new funding or weapons transfers that feed this war. And we must block new efforts, like Sections 224 and 622 of the NDAA, that would require deeper cooperation between the US and Israeli militaries. Any Member who opposes this war must reject weapons transfers and military aid to Israel. The ongoing escalations in the region perpetuate the risk of a wider regional war.
  3. Keep Voting on War Powers Resolutions (WPR). Both chambers have passed different war powers resolutions. Now it's time to coalesce around one they can send to the president's desk and challenge him to veto a unified opposition to the war.

Dear Representative/Senator,

I am writing to demand immediate action to end President Trump’s unjust and unprovoked war on Iran.

The American people do not want another endless war. Yet the administration continues to escalate, including threats to deploy US troops to Iran and deepen American involvement in a widening regional conflict. At the same time, continued US military support for the Israeli government and its ongoing regional military operations is helping fuel a broader conflict with devastating consequences for civilians across the Middle East.

Americans are paying the price for this escalation. While families struggle with rising costs, Congress is being asked to consider billions more in military spending.

I urge you to:

  • Hold the line for not another dime. A vote for the Trump-Hegseth weapons budget, a supplemental request for funding, or additional funding for war under the NDAA is unacceptable.
  • Stop funding Israel’s military machine. You must block any new funding or weapons transfers that feed this war. And you must block new efforts, like Sections 224 and 622 of the NDAA, that would require deeper cooperation between the US and Israeli militaries. Any Member who opposes this war must reject weapons transfers and military aid to Israel. The ongoing escalations in the region perpetuate the risk of a wider regional war.
  • Keep Voting on War Powers Resolutions (WPR). Both chambers have passed different war powers resolutions. Now it's time to coalesce around one you can send to the president's desk and challenge him to veto a unified opposition to the war.

Will you uphold your constitutional duty and use every lever available to rein in this administration and prevent further escalation?

I look forward to your response and to seeing you act with urgency.
