Here’s why this series is important:
The COVID-19 outbreak is a dual crisis: it's a public health challenge the likes of which we haven't seen in a century, accompanied by an economic collapse of historic proportions. But what we’re seeing today isn’t just about the pandemic — it’s the consequences of decades of work by Republicans and their corporate allies to concentrate as much wealth and power at the top as possible. As we recover from this crisis, we have the chance to build a brighter future for everyone. But instead, those same bad actors are trying to take advantage of a global pandemic and twist it to their own benefit. Through this series, we hope to spotlight some of these egregious acts so that the perpetrators are held accountable, and to show people how they can make a difference by urging their members of Congress to do what must be done to protect our democracy, our health, and our communities.
