Town Hall for OH-12

Parks and Recreaction Auditorium
632 W. Fifth Ave
Lancaster, OH 43130
When: Saturday, April 26, 1:00 PM

We are hosting a town hall for the constituents of Ohio D-12. This event is open to the public to ask questions and share their concerns. Our District Representative Troy Balderson has been invited.

We have reached out and asked for Representative Balderson to host a town hall, so far, he hasn't scheduled one. So we've done the hard part for him, we've scheduled a location, and invited residents of his district, all we need is him.

So far, no response from Balderson's office.

We will have other community leaders there who are willing to show up and listen to your concerns and answer questions from constituents in Ohio's D-12.

Even if Balderson doesn't show up, we will!

See you there

Meditate for Ukraine on East Rock peak

Lawn next to monument
Soldiers and Sailors Monument
New Haven, CT 06511
When: Sunday, April 27, 2:00 PM

This event is a group meditation. We will sit and meditate for a bit, wearing blue and yellow. We will sit on the lawn near the Soldiers and Sailors monument, at the summit of East Rock peak, in East Rock State Park.

You don't need to know meditation, it's easy. We will give a brief primer, for novices.

Bring a towel or blanket, to put on the ground and sit on. If you are unable to sit on the ground, comfortably, for a prolonged time, then consider bringing a camping chair.

It may be chilly, check the forecast on the day. On the summit, the wind will be stronger and the temperature will be lower. Make sure you will be warm. You may want to plan for a warm under-layer, and a layer on top of that, for colors. If the weather is such that the ground will be too wet for sitting on with a towel, then the event will be cancelled.

Try to find a way to only be wearing blue and yellow colors. If you have a yellow or blue towel, use that, to sit on.

There are multiple components to this action. It is a show of solidarity and support. We offer our attention, by meditating to support Ukraine. We calm our own minds, and apply meditative attention to the situation. We remind people about the Ukrainian people and their plight. We invite people to reflect on the situation.

Don't bring signs. The colors are the message. We will be visiting the park and sharing it with other visitors. This is not a rally.

You can drive to it. The road to the summit will be open. Get to Farnham Dr from Davis St (Farnham Dr is closed at the other side) and turn in at the Farnham Dr parking lot, and continue past that, through the gate. The road from there will take you to the top. You can set your navigation for "Soldiers and Sailors Monument." At the top, there are multiple parking areas that are close to the monument. Once parked at the summit, walk toward the monument, and look for the blue and yellow meditators.

We will meet at 2, allow some time for stretching and settling in, offer a brief primer for novices, and then meditate for 20 minutes or so. That's it. Some ideas for meditations will be offered, but choose your own meditation.

A2D2 was formed by local activists as an Indivisible group in 2017 to resist the Trump agenda, and we are still doing it today! We partner with Swing Left, a national network that helps people find high impact ways to support Democratic candidates. It focuses on the most flippable races as an important step towards ensuring the progressive change needed to create a more inclusive and equitable government and society.

We Support Workers - Not Oligarchs

Longley Bridge
Court St
Auburn, ME 04210
When: Thursday, May 1, 4:00 PM

Today, on May Day /Labor day, it is important to renew support for our working union members who are a target for Donald Trump, as his executive orders dictate an end to collective bargaining, the tool used by unions to assure workers rights and wage equality. Unions are an integral part of our democratic way of life and they need our support now more than ever. We are in the fight of our lives . Donald Trump would change everything that we love about our country. He would destroy our social safety net, Medicaid, Medicare and social security are all under attack. He would take the wealth of our country and divide it up between his rich friends. He would meddle with our education system, dictate what they teach and to whom. We are seeing innocent people being scooped off the streets by Ice (his immigration police force), taken to other countries without due process and with no evidence to support the arrest. This is not America, this is Russia, Hungary and all dictatorships. He has destroyed our friendships around the world...we are no longer a most trusted nation, ridicule has replaced trust.
We can not and will not tolerate this authoritarian takeover. We will fight and when we fight we win! We are all in this together
Join us in solidarity.
May 1, on Longley Bridge - Court St, Auburn
